Sadly enough, I think this is the closest to being open and heartfull with Quetz as we’ll ever see her be. I wonder what it must have been like for her during the time of the plague, seeing her husband die, seeing fellow pilots and comrades die, and being left a single parent.
I’m not trying to excuse her behaviour here, but it does make me wonder how she came to be the person she is, and why she’s so cold to the, so far as we know, only other living member of her family.
Also, does she have a first name? From reading the comments posted here, calling her Quetz’s Mom reminds me of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice And Men, where Curley’s Wife had no name and was referred to only AS Curley’s Wife.
A pearl of wisdom from quetiz mom. Also i do agree that names do help flesh out characters now what about bubblegum has she learned of the grey morality of the shadow world or has become nothing but a drone working for that cyborg bitich.

What a lovely, sympathetic woman she is to be so concerned about her daughter’s well-being.

Not the worst mother ever but not by a wide margin. However, I think that was the advice Quertz was looking for.

What a charmingly cold, calculating bitch Quetz’s mother sounds.

I have it on somewhat-decent authority that her full name and title is: The Lady Colonel Adalia Manda Valdez.

Cool,, thank you dude. Just, names help to fully flesh out a character, rather than a title of association like Quetz’s Mom.

It seems Quetz is in fact a chip off the old iceberg.
