Now Taking Commissions.
April 29th, 2009Hi all out there in Angels RSS land.
Well, times are tough here in NZ, as I imagine they are all over. The recession is biting, and me and HL haven’t had a decent paying job in over 5 months. Living on savings isn’t much fun, but we’re hardy, never say die folk, so we’ll see it through.
To try and help us out a little, I’ve decided to offer commissioned artworks to those who are interested. Portraits, RPG and MMO character sketches, Angels character drawings, custom avatars….I’ll consider and discuss anything (within the bounds of decency). Payment will be via paypal, and will probably range between US$5 – $50 depending on the complexity of the commission.
So if you’ve ever wanted that sketch of your level 5 thief Pickwhistle the Sly to attach to your character sheet, nows the time. Drop me a line to discuss a price at hansagan@gmail.com.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Not to point or anything but you might want to look right here for help durring these trying times. Most (not all) web comics allow for donations and use online sales to eek out a few bucks. Not going to make one rich but PA and PvP seem to do ok. There are other examples ofc but those stand out as solid success stories.
Just a thought. Love the comic and ‘am looking forward to Part 2 when you start putting it out.

Not to echo the person who just commented, but your webcomic quality is a lot better than the handful of webcomics that do make some side income out of donations. Instead of relying on commissions to do minor freelance pieces for personal use, you might think of using Angels as a source of donations.
This doesn’t mean you need to work on Part 2 right now. But if you had something a bit less time intensive but engrossing that you could reasonably update once or twice a week, you can work on getting buzz for that.
Merchandising helps, too, but you need a following for that. I’ve followed this comic for 6-7 years now or whenever it was you started it, so obviously some people like it. Just a question of making a four panel pop version for the masses. Maybe a series of short stories / series?
Just a couple of thoughts. Not trying to jedi mind-trick you into giving us more Angels content before 2010… just letting you know that Angels itself could be a source of extra income for you.
