Haven’t seen that one coming… Well I did but not BG throwing herself at the captain and going berserk. Expected more dialogue from BG side and telling through tears that she thaught what she had done would be best for the interest of terrans or some other political propagana shit like that. Guess Pronto is gonna smash her in the face (hope not anything worse).

I think Capt. Robin will smack her down personally. I also think this was done deliberately to break her. There’s no way the Capt. could think she was remotely prepared for any of this.

heh. I know I’m not good at betting, but I just kind of wish that Quetz would step in and save BG from herself.

Here’s hoping she takes the captain down a peg. Go Bubble Gum!!!

Come on, Pronto! Drop BG. Hard.

Well, she had nothing else to do. Hope the Captain dosent f*ck her up too bad.

Um, last I checked, BG safeguarded Scimitar, escorted the tugs that slammed the colonial ship/rock, extracted at least SOME information out of Anabelle, defended herself and an MP against the same, pulled together a ship-wide morale booster just before this engagement (albeit under a hidden agenda), held her own in an earlier engagement…
Meanwhile, she freaked out in battle, betrayed the captain (under pressure from her own side, but still)… for anyone else keeping score, who can name two pilots that did worse?
If the Captain is deliberately doing this to “break” BG, it’s a poor call on her part. She might not be able to pick up the pieces, let alone put BG back together. Mind you, this whole mission was supposedly planned from the start as a suicide mission — “bait” as our Trek-worshiping rebel leader suggested — so what more damage could she do by shattering her own crew?

Yeah, I’m not too sure where this is going, but it’s monumentally unfair of the Captain to lay all that at Bubblegum’s feet. She’s not really trained for any of the jobs at which she “failed”. Holding her accountable like this feels like the Captain’s just lashing out. And if she’s got to lash out at somebody, Whiskey’s right there–who, k’now, assaulted a chaplain and KILLED a squadmate.
And where IS Toat, anyway? She should probably be clamoring to freakin’ arrest everyone.

Allow me to rephrase. BG was under tons of pressure from multiple fronts, and not releasing it. By break, I meant she was making BG let that steam off. She attacked her in the most unfair way possible, focusing her and giving a reason to blow up. Probably didn’t expect her to charge like that, however she’s probably prepared. It sounds nuts, but this can be pretty cathartic, allowing a lot of tension to go away in a short time, not to mention Capt. Robin makes a good scapegoat. Even though it’s really the situation, it’s easy to blame her since she’s kept issuing the orders that have put BG in the most stress (toat, the prisoner). Let her offload on someone strong enough to take it and forgive her, and a big change can come about.
Also, in addition to being a suicide mission, weren’t the icebreakers also an experiment with throwing recruits into bird without the normal level of training, making them even less prepared?

While I can see what you’re saying there, this still feels like a less than appropriate time for it. The rebel captain’s still got Hammer someplace, and Toat the Inquisitor is still on board the Outcast. There are still plenty of things that need attention, and BG’s mindset is low on the list.
