  1. Alchemystic Says:

    I KNEW SHE WAS ALIVE.

I called it. To an empty room, yes, but I called it.

Are the Icebreakers seeing any of this?

  2. Cadi Says:

I didn’t call it, but my very out loud WOOT probably woke my neighbors.

  3. Derek Says:

    Nooooooo!!! *sigh*

It’s very Hollywood having the good guys turn up when you think they’re dead. I like that she gave her life for the angels. To have her come back somehow cheapens that sacrifice.

  4. Marshall Says:

No offense Derek, but most of the “Hammer’s dead” crew frankly just *wanted* someone to die who was cared for and have it be a real death, not a comic book one. That’s Looser. It was bound to happen in a series like this, you folks just jumped on that bandwagon too soon, and when it was really obvious that she wasn’t supposed to die. If that were the case, why not show her thoughts right up to the big boom? Why not a picture of Hammer getting blown up while thinking of Kid, or of her father who’d she’d see momentarily? Why not a definite death scene? Why make the point that the last time you saw here was 2 minutes to boom, and then not ever again? Because she wasn’t gonna be dead. 2 minutes is forever when everyone is running on adrenaline.

On the other hand, you’ve finally got that with this arc, I guess. While I’d prefer to see Loosers head bounce off something, or maybe her head in an open casket funeral, I’m not gonna doubt for a second that she’s most likely dead. At the same time, I won’t complain if there’s a plausible explanation for her living.

As for my reaction, I found myself oddly listening to a chant of “Hammer Hammer Hammer Hammer Hammer ” in my head. Apparently the voices are a fan of hers too. ;)

  5. Marshall Says:

Also, Hammer is obviously a spy. She’s not shackled or restrained in any way, and she could easily take him out in that position with basic combat training, including throwing him off enough to not get shot.

  6. No2Fan Says:

    I KNEW IT TOO!!

Guess betting all my $235 hypothetical cash worked :D :D

  7. BCT Says:

    HANS YOU BASTARD.

    Ilu.

  8. James Says:

I knew she had to turn up soon – we’re at the end XD Plus, it would have been sucky for her to just wait for her death instead of having her instantly killed in a blaze of glory – afterall, she not only risked her life to save her conrads, but she even tried to save that boy – hero(ine)s do not wait for their deaths. She probably found another space suit or similar in those last two minutes.

    Of course, this may cause some problems for Kid to fulfill her promise to Whiskey @_@;

  9. Shae Says:

    You bastard!

    I hate you!

    I love you!

If she dies now I am on the next bloody plane to NZ! Spent so long without the lass, thinking she was dead…how could you *sniffs*

  10. The Vegetarian Zombie Says:

I think this guy is a coward. When he realizes that holding Hammer hostage won’t work, he probably WILL surrender. Or shoot himself. Anybody that would let an entire colony explode just so he can blame it on somebody else really is a coward. Even though the civilians were gone, all the effort that had gone into making it a habitable location is now wasted. Millions of man-hours. Those people are now homeless!

And I think space is a very bad place to be homeless.

Get that bastard, Captain. Hammer understands.

  11. TazTheTerrible Says:

    HAMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!

    I knew it!

    *tackles*

I would like to tag my vote behind Shae’s. She’d BETTER not die now! :p

  12. IS_Wolf Says:

Doubtful that Hammer would be killed now.
I mean, he’s just set up the whole Whiskey and Kid are going to bump uglies scenario.
And Hammer is the perfect wrench for that plan to create even more melodrama, considering her own feelings towards Kid, and considering what Kid may feel for her, and how Whiskey seemed somewhat jealous of Hammer.

Main problem being, is that Kid, seems to be a woman of her word and she did promise Whiskey.
And I think she’d keep her word, even if it meant breaking her own heart, by not having her first time be with Hammer.

  13. Tristan Says:

    *Speechless and nearly in tears*
You’re a godamn bastard, Haynes. A brilliant, diabolical, godamn bastard.

  14. Marshall Says:

I feel I must defend our erstwhile author. He’s not a “brilliant, diabolical, goddamn bastard”. If he were, he would kill her now so that both camps would finally get what they’ve been clamoring for.

On the other hand, he’s a brilliant author who writes well enough to actually evoke our emotions for these characters floating around in his head. He made us care enough to form the “Hammer lives!” and “Hammer’s dead!” camps, which have gone on to some degree ever since the event how long ago?

I trust him to continue to write believably, with characters we can continue to care about, as much as one can care for characters in a story.

  15. Shae Says:

I have total faith in him aswell…I’ve been following this comic for god knows how many years now and he’s never failed to disappoint in terms of quality of writing.

  16. TazTheTerrible Says:

Now just fingers crossed for Loser’s survival.

  17. Derek Says:

The only person who knows Hammer is alive is the captain. This message has been taken in private and she may still have to blow up the enemy ship with Hammer on board.

I think it’s up to Hammer to save her own arse.

  18. Romashk Says:

I was hoping she was alive… As much as lationo-french pair pleases the eye, Hammers death never realy sat well with me…

ps. Hope Kid’s not going to go raiding enemys base… :) whe she sanps, she snaps.

  19. Marshall Says:

I wonder why we haven’t heard Kimmers chime in on this, I thought she was the forerunner of the Hammer fan club?

  20. Pip Says:

I admit it, I’m still curious about the Forseti information — but aside from THAT… hells, just power up the p-beam and blow the asteroid to kingdom come, already. Hammer knows.

  21. Mr0Buggy Says:

Kinda expected… Yet Hammer is still officially dead for her comrades.
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !? *still chewing mouse cord*

  22. Amber Says:

GAH! Don’t you know what this MEANS?!!!

If she’s still alive, and she gets saved from this, then there’s going to be MAJOR conflict between Whiskey, Hammer and Kid! Whiskey obviously didn’t kill herself because really she’s in love with Kid and thus why she automatically (it HAD to be a reflex) ejected when Kid said she’d sleep with her.

And the only possible way I can see Whiskey ever being okay (or at least no longer suicidal) with what she did to Looser, if she had Kid. But now that’s ruined because Hammer is still alive and most likely still in love with Kid! GASP! The drama!! XDD

This is the best/worst comic I’ve ever read! Keep going! XDDD

  23. Marshall Says:

Actually, I think Whiskey would probably let it go if Hammer somehow got out of this and still had honest feelings for Kid. Letting those two have what she lost would probably kill even her libido. Not that rampant teasing wouldn’t be in order.

  24. Zumbo Prime Says:

I really want to know what happens with her in the future.
