I almost forgot to ask, anyone got a link to the filler strip where the crew lined up to declare their love for Kid? Was looking for it but didn't see it anywhere, or any other filler for that matter.

Ok, I agree Looser is most likely dead, but I do have to say I suspect hammer isn't for a couple reasons. 1) two minutes is a damn long time when you're living inside the tick. More than enough to get into a escape pod. 2) Capt. Robin had some news for pronto afterward that really messed with her. Either I missed that news, or it could be anything, including evidence that hammer was captured. Or something completely different. It's the timing that has my brain working here.

And I have no doubt that Whiskey will sleep with Kid, since to do otherwise would cause the rest of the crew to ridicule her relentlessly, never mind her angle and devil which, as I recall, found Kid to be jaw dropping in that bikini.

To everybody who thinks Whiskey should have died:

First, we don't know that she won't. She was flying at a high velocity in one direction, now she's ejecting at a high velocity in another. It would take an awfully strong ejector to keep her from colliding with the asteroid, and there is a point at which the G Force will crush your spine. Or something like that...

Secondly, we have seen twice now that we are not dealing with a writer who's too much of a wimp to actually kill anyone. Loser's blood was splattered all over Kiseko's canopy. We also saw Hammer in the hangar bay during the final seconds of the countdown. There wouldn't have been a body to show, but there really wasn't time. If Whiskey does live, it's because that's the story Peter Haynes and Nathaniel Savio wanted to tell.

And lastly- it's Whiskey! Of COURSE she'll snap out of a guilt-induced psychosis if SEX is on the line! Especially with Kid.

Oh dear goddess that was just... too amusing for words.

I was expecting Whiskey to die here. And I'm willing to bet that she did kill her lover in a friendly-fire incident. Bad shit happens like that. She'll have to live with the consequences. Assuming she lives... after all, it would be a cruel twist for her cockpit to get holed by debris as she's floating in space after the explosion.

Though it's doubtful Whiskey's going to hold Kid to her offer. It might be more interesting if Kid insists... because it's a debt of honor for her. She promised. It doesn't matter that Whiskey isn't going to take her up on it.

Sweet imaginary Jesus, that was fantastic. I've been absent from the comic for several weeks, and I come back to all this business, and I didn't see the eject "sound effect" so I'm sitting here thinking "God, is he really going to prolong this agony? And when did the bridge crew become so callus?" and then I started reading comments. I laughed so hard it almost brought tears to my eyes.
I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for the deliciously awkward "So...you really gonna sleep with me?" strip.
I've been reading for years now, and every time I think I've got you pegged, you throw a curve.
And to everyone involved in the "No one's really dead" debate, give it up.
In my humble opinion, this is a comic about the human condition, and everything that goes with it. Unfortunately that includes loss, and as much as we'd like to believe that our favorite characters(I may or may not have cried a little when Hammer died. What? I'm comfortable with my masculinity) will somehow reappear, none the worse for their absence, this isn't "The Young and the Restless" or "Buffy".

Puny Derek, very puny. Yeah, I have to admit, I don't believe Loser is dead either, because I haven't seen Looser bits that were identified as such. And if someone was gonna have the presence of mind to say "ah s%!t, eject!", it'd be the seasoned soldier turned pilot. No corpse, no belief in them being dead. Though if Looser *is* alive, does that mean she gets to sleep with Kid too by default?

I don't think this is anti climatic. It's like Indiana Jones when he pulled his gun and shot the baddie to avoid a fist fight. It's comedy because you were expecting something else...

Besides, how can it be anti climatic when the climax will come later ;)
