Situation Update

August 26th, 2008

Hi All,

Thanks to all those who have written in expressing concern, everything’s fine. In fact everything’s great. I’m just really, really, insanely busy. And when I’m not busy, I’m exhausted.

My daily schedule at the moment goes something like this.

Between 6-7am - take the morning feed with Keira.

7-8am - Play with Keira

9am -6pm work on preproduction for online featurette

6.30pm - Take over baby from BG for the evening

8pm - Put the baby to sleep

10pm - Crash, followed by intermittently interrupted sleep

As you can see, it doesn’t leave a whole lot of time or energy for comics. Its frustrating I know, as the comic is constantly looming over me in the background like a big…loomy thing, but circumstances confound me every time I try to make some progress on it. So, I think I’m going to have to be honest and say I’m not going to be able to finish the comic until mid October, when my contract is over. I just want to get this out of the way and give you all a definite date, rather than constantly leave you hanging.

I really hope it doesn’t sound like I’m complaining, because I’m not…I love being a dad, and Keira is the happiest, most easy going baby we could have hoped for. I just hope you can be patient with me for a little bit longer while I meet my obligations and earn money to feed my new family :)

Comic Schedule

July 23rd, 2008

New Comic on Friday…usual reasons for delay, plus one new one…BG has tendonitis, which is apparently fairly common, but very frustrating, because she can hardly pick the baby up due to the pain in her wrists. Helping her with that, plus usual duties, leaves little time for comics I’m afraid :)

I might write a follow up article to Scott Kurtz’s original…’How a baby can kill your webcomic’ :)

Revised Schedule

June 23rd, 2008

Ok, Definitely tomorrow night.

Sorry, newborn babies and webcomic schedules don’t mix.

Keira at two months

June 20th, 2008

Was hoping to post a comic tonight, but Keira has been exceptionally grouchy. The reason? Teething.

Teething. At two months. Last week we had reflux. Its like sleeping next to a time bomb in nappies.

We keep needing to look at these pictures of a happy baby to remind ourselves that she does smile quite a lot. Got most of the drawings done, so there will be a comic on monday.

She also has Goku’s hairstyle, which is particularly amusing when she’s pooping. She clenches her fists, grunts and generally looks like she’s powering up.

Heres a trailer for the show I’m doing some directing on this year… my episodes will be online sometime around October.
